March 5th

Winter has flown by, and it looks like Spring will be arriving in our area within a few weeks. Air temps look to be in the mid 70’s over the coming week, and hopefully water temps will be warming up as well. With our water temps still in the high 50’s, the nearshore to inshore bite may remain suspect thru the end of the month. We hope to see a influx of Bull Reds at some point, as well as some kid friendly species such as whiteing, croakers, small rays and dogfish(aka gummy sharks.) Until then, the boat will remain on stand-by. Hopefully by Easter weekend the fish will have arrived and we can get the season underway. 67degree water temps will be the mark that we are aiming for, and when that takes place, we should be able to catch some fish as opposed to just fishing. The parade of various Sharks will come soon after and before you know it, we will have a variety of gamefish to choose from. Always remember that the warmer the water, the more bait there is, and the more food source available, the more fish in the area. As for now, keep your eyes on the weather and hope that the fish get here sooner as opposed to later. Will have an update in a couple of weeks
