FISH ALERT! FISH ALERT! FISH ALERT!
FISHING
REPORT August 28th
Fishing is pretty crappy, still! While we have had a few brief moments of
decent action, the nearshore and inshore waters remain suspect at best. We
managed to catch a few of the usual suspects such as Spanish-Mackeral,
Ladyfish, Redfish, small Sharks, etc this past week, but there has been a lot
a of downtime between catches, and with the continued rain and wind the
forecast is anybody's guess. Oh yeah, the hurricanes that are in the Atlantic
right now may have some affect on the fishing this coming week. We always look
forward to some good surf, but with good surf comes scattered baitfish and
cloudy water. The amount of freshwater runoff from all the rain this past week
hasn't helped either, but the rains are ending and if the winds and ocean
remains relatively quiet, then hopefully we will see a big improvement in the
fishing action. I will let everyone know just how good, or bad it is by mid
week. Till then, tight lines and hang ten.
A message to all visiting anglers.
Please be aware of misleading fishing guide
websites offering their services to Hilton Head visitors. An
attractive looking website accompanied by claims
of "local expertise ," and "vast amounts of knowledge"
does not in any way make it so. The Mighty Mako is not trailored from here to there,
randomly picking up clients at public docks or landings, demanding payment
of cash only. The Mighty Mako has fished out of Palmetto Bay Marina for
over 20 years and has been docked in the exact same slip (slip #1) for
that entire time. We gladly accept several forms of payment and offer all
of the amenities one would expect from a reputable marina and charter
service. For me, fishing is not a hobby, it is
my way of life.
Hopefully, you will experience the thrill of a life time (or an enjoyable day
among friends and family) when you fish aboard the Mighty Mako in 2010.
Tight lines to all you anglers who have fished (and have yet to fish) aboard the Mighty
Mako.
LETS GO FISHING!!!!
Tight Lines,
