Happy Mothers Day everyone. Hope you spent the day with your Mom or at least spoke with her and let her know how much she is loved and appreciated. I’ve had an enjoyable few days with my Mom. I didn’t want to be out fishing the last couple of days anyway. The new moon has really caused the water to be very dirty and filled with debris that’s pulled from the marshes during the high tides. These conditions will prevail thru early week, but things should be back to normal by midweek. I fished only 1 day this past week and after catching plenty of bait with ease, proceeded to catch plenty of Sharks in non-stop action. I fished inshore while a friend of mine fished several miles off the beach and caught 6 to 7 Bull Reds. The bait as well as the bite looks to remain here for some time to come. The weather pattern looks good throughout the week and I’ve heard of small catches of Spanish Mackerel taking place just a few miles offshore. I think the Redfish bite will hang in there till the Sharks take over and hopefully a few Cobia will show up as well. New Rules and regulations don’t allow for the harvesting of Cobia this year, but it would still be nice to hook into a few. Beautiful weather, plenty of bait and action, lets go do some fishing.
